Due to the increased number of applications being lodged for Skilled Sponsored (Residence) visa (subclass 886), the State Migration Centre (SMC) is unable to answer general enquiries in regard to the progress of applications.
If an application has a critical date please highlight this at time of lodgement. If you have engaged the services of a Migration Agent, please ensure your agent is the point of contact with the SMC and makes any enquiries on your behalf.
In order for your application to be processed by the SMC, you must lodge a valid on-line application which MUST include the following documents to be processed:
- Skills Assessment
- Current CV
- Letter of completion from your educational institution
- IELTS results
If these documents are not attached with your application, it will be deemed as invalid and State Sponsorship will be rejected.
Please note the Government of Western Australia does not participate in the ‘concessional competent’ English option.

Online Sponsorship Application for Skilled Regional Sponsored Visa and Skilled Sponsored Visa

Welcome to the online sponsorship application facility for the Skilled Regional Sponsored (SRS) and Skilled Sponsored (SSV) visas. To complete these applications, you must first read and agree to the terms and conditions listed below.
Once you have done so, click on the "proceed to the online application for SRS" or the "proceed to the online application for SSV" link to start the application process.
Please note that you have only two hours to complete each page of the application. Once two hours has lapsed you will lose all the information you have provided and you will have to start again.

Terms and Conditions
- The information provided in this Application Form is for use by the State Migration Centre to assess suitability for sponsorship by the Western Australian Government. Information provided in this Application Form may be disclosed to the Department of Immigration, Citizenship (DIAC) and to registered Western Australian participating agents.
- The applicant understands that, while the Western Australian Government may sponsor the applicant to migrate, DIAC is responsible for all final decision-making concerning eligibility and granting the visa.
- Under the SRS program, the applicant acknowledges their obligation to remain living in an area of Western Australia outside of metropolitan Perth for a minimum of two years and working in an area of Western Australia outside of Perth for a minimum of one year from their arrival date.
- Under the SSV program, the applicant acknowledges their obligation to remain living and working in Western Australia for at least two years from their arrival date.
- The applicant has assessed him/herself as meeting the SRS or SSV visa sponsorship and eligibility criteria.
- For SRS, the information provided by the applicant is true and accurate and is an expression of interest in both working and residing in an area of Western Australia outside of Perth.
- For SSV, the information provided by or on behalf of the applicant is true and accurate and is an expression of interest in both working and residing in Western Australia.
- It is clearly understood that government social security benefits are NOT available to skilled migrants under the SRS and SSV visa schemes. Skilled migrants sponsored under the SRS visa will NOT have access to Medicare, Higher Education Contributions Scheme or Centrelink.
- Skilled migrants sponsored under the SSV visa will NOT have access to social security benefits until they have permanently resided in Australia for two years. Further information on access to government benefits can be found on the DIAC website at http://www.immi.gov.au/
- The applicant understands that the Western Australian Government is NOT responsible for finding employment or providing financial or settlement assistance to State nominated or other skilled migrants coming to Western Australia.
- The applicant understands that the State Migration Centre, the Western Australian Government and its employees are NOT liable for any inaccuracies or omissions in the information provided to the applicant in the context of their application for migration or sponsorship.
- The applicant is responsible for advising the State Migration Centre of progress in visa processing with DIAC, any employment offers and changes in contact details.
- In relation to SSV, the applicant is responsible for keeping the Western Australian Government informed of their contact details in Western Australia for 24 months after arrival in order to receive and complete the following surveys:
- settlement assistance survey on arrival in Western Australia
- settlement survey 6 months after arrival
- settlement survey 12 months after arrival
- final settlement survey 24 months after arrival
- Only fully completed Sponsorship Application Forms will be considered by the State Migration Centre. Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant.
