Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme
Under the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme employers in regional areas may sponsor people from overseas or temporary residents in Australia to fill permanent vacancies. The RSMS sponsorship must be certified by a Regional Certifying Body.
The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme also allows Regional Certifying Bodies to consider requests to certify exceptional appointments if the following applies:
- The applicant is aged over 45;
- The applicant does not possess formal qualifications;
- The applicant has an occupation in ASCO range 5 to 7; or
- The applicant does not meet the minimum English level.

Temporary Business (Long Stay) Visa 457
This visa allows employers to nominate people from overseas to fill vacancies within their companies.
