Occupations in Demand
Baseline List Occupations
To apply for State Sponsorship under the Skilled Sponsored Visa (SSV) you must have an occupation on the Western Australian Occupations in Demand List (WAOIDL). This list identifies skills that are in demand for industry sectors throughout Western Australia including regional locations and the Perth metropolitan area.
State Sponsorship is also available under the Skilled Regional Sponsored Visa (SRSV) in Western Australia for occupations that are only in demand in a regional area of Western Australia.
Occupations are listed numerically according to their Australian Standard Classification of Occupations Code (ASCO) code. They are grouped under the first four major occupation groups in the ASCO structure:
- Managers and Administrators;
- Professionals;
- Associate Professionals; and
- Tradespersons and related workers.
For each occupation, the list shows:
- ASCO code;
- Name/title of occupation;
- Number of points for the occupation under Department of Immigration and Citizenship's (DIAC) General Skilled Migration points system;
- Whether the occupation is on the Migration Occupation in Demand List (MODL) for bonus points; and
- Score required for each band under the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
