Other Business Visas
The following Business Visas do not require State sponsorship. However, if you wish to apply for one of these visas, you must seek registration from the Government of Western Australia if this is your intended residence:
- 160 Business Owner (Provisional)
- 161 Senior Executive (Provisional)
- 162 Investor (Provisional)
- 890 Business Owner (Permanent)
- 891 Investor (Permanent)
To be eligible for these visas, you must be under 45 years of age and you must have a vocational level of English at the first stage application process.

Before applying for one of these unsponsored Business Visas, you may wish to consider applying for a State Sponsored Business Visa.
For each of the visas listed above, a State Sponsored visa is also available:
- 163 State Sponsored Business Owner (Provisional)
- 164 State Sponsored Senior Executive (Provisional)
- 165 State Sponsored Investor (Provisional)
- 892 State Sponsored Business Owner (Permanent)
- 893 State Sponsored Investor (Permanent)
The benefits of State Sponsorship for business migrants include:
- Age - you can be up to 54 years of age, or over if exceptional circumstances apply;
- English – you do not need to sit an English test, however, you may be required to pay an additional fee to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC);
- Lower financial thresholds for visa criteria – the value of your assets and turnover can be lower; and
- Appeal – State Sponsored applicants have the ability to apply to the Migration Review Tribunal to review their visa application decision.
