The occupations ANZSCO 272412 Interpreter and ANZSCO 272413 Translator have been removed from the Western Australian skilled migration occupation list (WASMOL) 2015–16.

Invitations to apply for State nomination will not be sent to applicants with the occupations Interpreter and Translator.​

The review has determined that there are no changes required for the remainder of the 2014-15 program year.

The current State nomination criteria and WASMOL will continue to apply to applicants considering State nomination for the remainder of the 2014-15 program year.

State nomination migration program mid-year review
18 March 2015

A mid-year review of Western Australia's State nomination program, including the Western Australian skilled migration occupation list (WASMOL) is in progress.  

Information about the review was briefly published on the migration portal on 3 March in error.

Information will be published on the migration portal when the review is completed.  

The current State nomination criteria and WASMOL will continue to apply to applicants considering St​​ate nomination.

A new year, a new location!
5 January 2015

​Migration services including the Overseas Qualifications Unit, Skilled Migration Western Australia and Skills Assessments International is moving on 12 January 2015. 

 
Our new office will be a short walk from the old location at Level 7 of the GPO Building at 3 Forrest Place, Perth.

 
The office and phone services will be closed from 1.00 pm Friday 9 January 2015. Phone services will be available again on Monday 12 January and we will re-open for on-site services on Tuesday 13 January.

 
We will be co-located with other services to form the new Department of Training and Workforce Development Customer Service Centre. 

 
Other services will include the Perth Aboriginal Workforce Development Centre, Education and Training International and the Career Centre.

Cambridge English test now accepted as proof of English
1 January 2015

Results from the Cambridge English: Advanced test will now be accepted as proof of English language skills for State nomination.

Only tests taken on or after 1 January 2015 will be accepted.

Managers and professionals need a score of 185 in each band and all other occupations need a score of 169 in each band.

​The Skilled Migration Western Australia office will be closed from Thursday 25 December 2014 and will reopen on Monday 5 January 2015.

No invitations for State nomination will be sent during this time.

The processing of applications for State nomination may also be delayed by approximately 10 working days in addition to the advertised processing times.
