Benefits of State Sponsorship
Some visa categories require sponsorship from the Government of Western Australia. The State Migration Centre provides this sponsorship on behalf of the Government of Western Australia who sponsors two visa schemes, the Skilled Regional Sponsored Visa and the Skilled Sponsored Visa. These schemes make it possible for people to live and work in areas where there is a shortage of skills created by the State’s strong economic growth. The benefits of State Sponsorship for skilled migrants include a lower pass mark for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s points test, immediate permanent residence visa status for applicants with occupations on the State’s Priority Skills List and the ability to apply to the Migration Review Tribunal for a review of the decision on their visa application.
