The Government of Western Australia offers sponsorship for visas in the Skilled Sponsored and Skilled Regional Sponsored visa categories.  Skilled Migration WA processes applications on behalf of the State Government. We may also be able to assist people in Australia on a Working Holiday visa (417) to apply during their stay in Australia for a Regional Sponsored visa.  Visa applications with State Sponsorship nomination are processed as a higher priority by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).

Changes to the State Sponsorship Criteria

State Sponsorship Criteria for applications lodged between 1 September 2007 to 30 June 2010 and international students subject to transitional arrangements has been updated.
 
The Criteria are as follows:
Monthly review of the Western Australian skilled migration occupation list
1 May 2012

Skilled Migration Western Australia (SMWA) has conducted its monthly review of the Western Australian skilled migration occupation list.
From 1 May 2012:
  • there are no changes to the availability of occupations on the list;
